Dr. Israr Ahmed was a prominent Islamic scholar and theologian who founded Tanzeem-e-Islami in 1975 with the mission of reviving Islamic society through adherence to the Quran and Sunnah. He was widely known for his extensive Urdu lectures on the Quran and his prolific writings on Islamic thought. Awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1981, his influence on religious education in Pakistan has been profound and enduring.
