Biography

Talib Jauhari was a celebrated Pakistani poet and religious orator renowned for his moving elegies, marsias, and passionate literary oratory. He was a central figure in the tradition of Urdu religious poetry and his recitations were famous throughout Pakistan and among diaspora communities worldwide. He received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1996 for his remarkable contributions to Urdu religious and literary culture.
