Justice Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani is one of the world's leading Islamic scholars, serving for many years as a judge on Pakistan's Federal Shariat Court and Shariat Appellate Bench of the Supreme Court. He is a globally recognised authority on Islamic jurisprudence and the founder of the modern Islamic finance industry's regulatory framework. His books on Islamic finance, Hadith, and jurisprudence are studied in institutions worldwide. He received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 2019 for his extraordinary contributions to Islamic scholarship.
